Company Verification Policy
This policy explains how Bangladesh Apparel reviews companies, supporting trade documents and marketplace information before a business may receive a VERIFIED status.
Last updated: 18 August 2026
1. Purpose of verification
Bangladesh Apparel uses company verification to improve trust, transparency and marketplace integrity.
Verification is intended to provide users with an indication that Bangladesh Apparel has reviewed specified information or documentation relating to a business.
Verification is not intended to replace a buyer's own commercial, technical, legal, financial or compliance due diligence.
2. Verification statuses
PENDING
The company has not yet completed Bangladesh Apparel's verification process or its application remains under review.
VERIFIED
Bangladesh Apparel has completed the verification checks applicable to that company using the information available at the time.
REJECTED
The application has not met the verification requirements or could not be satisfactorily verified.
3. Information Bangladesh Apparel may review
Depending on the type of business and the circumstances, Bangladesh Apparel may request or review information including:
- company or business name;
- business address and location;
- registered or trading contact information;
- company registration information;
- trade licences or equivalent business documents;
- membership or industry information where relevant and reasonably verifiable;
- factory or operating-site information;
- business category and services offered;
- certifications or other credentials submitted for review;
- information reasonably necessary to identify inconsistencies, fraud or misrepresentation; and
- additional supporting documentation where Bangladesh Apparel considers further review appropriate.
4. Trade-document upload
Verification documents are private
Trade licences, registration records and other documents submitted for verification are intended for private administrative review.
They are not intended to be displayed publicly merely because they have been uploaded to Bangladesh Apparel.
Businesses uploading documents confirm that they have the right to submit those documents and that the documents have not been fraudulently altered.
Bangladesh Apparel may reject files that are unreadable, incomplete, suspicious, inconsistent or otherwise unsuitable for verification.
5. What a VERIFIED badge means
A VERIFIED badge means that Bangladesh Apparel has completed the verification steps it considers applicable to that company at the relevant time and has not identified a reason preventing verification based on the information reviewed.
The verification may include comparison of submitted details, review of supporting business documentation and other reasonable checks considered appropriate by Bangladesh Apparel.
6. What verification does NOT mean
Verification is not a guarantee, warranty or certification by Bangladesh Apparel.
In particular, a VERIFIED badge does not guarantee:
- financial strength or solvency;
- creditworthiness;
- ownership or beneficial ownership beyond checks performed;
- production capacity;
- product quality;
- delivery performance;
- future conduct;
- bank-account authenticity;
- payment performance;
- compliance with every law, regulation, labour standard, environmental requirement or buyer code;
- continued validity of every submitted certificate;
- accuracy of every statement made by the company; or
- successful completion of any future transaction.
7. Buyer due diligence
Buyers remain responsible for conducting appropriate checks before entering into a commercial relationship.
Depending on the proposed transaction, buyers should consider independently confirming matters such as:
- current trade licences and registrations;
- factory location and operating status;
- production capacity and machinery;
- samples and workmanship;
- technical specifications;
- certification validity;
- social and environmental compliance;
- quality-control systems;
- financial standing;
- bank details;
- references and transaction history;
- inspection arrangements; and
- contractual protections.
8. Pending and unverified factories
Bangladesh Apparel may permit a PENDING garment factory to have a limited public showcase while verification is incomplete.
PENDING / unverified factory
- must be clearly identified as verification pending;
- may display a maximum of 4 showcase photographs;
- may not publish a showcase video;

- display up to 8 showcase photographs;
- display one showcase video of no more than 90 seconds;
- display approved public profile information; and
- participate in protected buyer-access features where applicable.
10. Protected factory contact information
Verification does not automatically make all factory contact information public.
Bangladesh Apparel may restrict certain factory details to eligible active registered buyers in accordance with the platform's access-control rules.
Protected information may include contact person, title, email, telephone number, WhatsApp details, website or full address where Bangladesh Apparel designates those fields as protected.
11. Certifications
Certification information supplied by a company may be reviewed as part of verification, but Bangladesh Apparel is not the certification body unless expressly stated otherwise.
Buyers requiring a particular certification should independently confirm its authenticity, scope, expiry date and applicability with the issuing body where appropriate.
12. Changes after verification
Verification reflects information available at a particular point in time.
Businesses are responsible for keeping important marketplace and verification information accurate and reasonably current.
Bangladesh Apparel may request updated documents or conduct further review where information changes, expires or raises reasonable concerns.
13. Suspension or withdrawal of verification
Bangladesh Apparel may suspend, remove or reconsider a VERIFIED status where reasonably necessary, including where:
- information is discovered to be false or misleading;
- documents appear forged or fraudulently altered;
- material verification information has expired;
- the company fails to provide reasonably requested updated information;
- the company ceases trading;
- there is evidence of impersonation or misuse;
- serious marketplace abuse, fraud or security concerns arise; or
- suspension is reasonably required to comply with applicable law.
14. Rejection
Bangladesh Apparel may reject an application where the information provided is insufficient, inconsistent, misleading, unverifiable or otherwise fails the applicable verification requirements.
Rejection does not necessarily mean that Bangladesh Apparel has determined the business is fraudulent. It may mean only that the available evidence was insufficient to complete verification.
15. No sale of verification
Payment for advertising, membership, premium visibility or other commercial services must not itself determine whether a business receives a VERIFIED badge.
Verification decisions should remain separate from promotional placement and be based on the applicable verification process.
16. Verification records and data protection
Personal information and private supporting documents used in verification are handled in accordance with the Bangladesh Apparel Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
Verification information should be accessible only to authorised persons and relevant service providers where access is necessary for administration, security, technical operation or legal compliance.
17. Fraudulent documents and impersonation
Fraudulent verification activity is prohibited
Users must not submit forged documents, impersonate another company, manipulate verification records or attempt to obtain a VERIFIED badge through deception.
Bangladesh Apparel may restrict accounts, preserve relevant records, withdraw verification and report suspected unlawful conduct where appropriate.
18. Reporting incorrect verification information
If you believe a VERIFIED company is displaying materially inaccurate information, using another organisation's identity or misrepresenting its verification status, please report the concern to Bangladesh Apparel.
